The KAFA Development Fund Foundation was established in 2006 to contribute to the institute’s growth and development. The foundation provides scholarship programs for KAFA students while also supporting the production of films and a range of other academic and artistic activities. The foundation further contributes to the academy’s development by managing copyrights for the films produced as part of KAFA’s programs.

The KAFA Development Fund Foundation runs a supporters’ association to allow individuals to contribute to nurturing the filmmakers that will come to be at the forefront of Korean film. Fund donated by supporters are exempt from taxation.

The KAFA Development Fund Foundation aims to establish it self as a partner to KAFA, contributing to the development of the Korean film sector while fostering future film-industry talents.

Major Projects
  1. Supporting domestic and inter-national exchanges between film and animation students and professionals
  2. Supporting KAFA students and faculty members' artistic and research endeavors
  3. Supporting productions produced as part of KAFA programs(Practical production, research for industrial production, etc.)
  4. Scholarship management
  5. Acquisition of equipment and establishment of facilities
  6. Supporting KAFA promotional efforts and cultural activities
  7. Operation and support of a host of filmmaker training programs
  8. Other projects as deemed necessary by the board of directors
